Helping Young Women Experience God’s Love and Restoration

A holistic 6-12 month residential care program
Experience freedom from past hurts
Discover restored life purpose
Walk in God’s life-transforming power

Every young woman wants to discover a purpose for her life, enjoy healthy self-esteem and build rewarding and meaningful relationships.

She wants to live in freedom, but may have experienced pain, trauma or abuse in her past. These painful experiences often cause her to believe she’s unwanted, unloved and alone.

At Mercy Canada, we are here to help. We believe every young woman deserves to experience God’s love, freedom and restoration from her pain.

Since 2010, our residential care has helped over 150 women find hope and healing from life-controlling issues, such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, addiction, an eating disorder or unplanned pregnancy.

Mercy’s Restoration Approach

A Multi-Dimensional Approach for Spirit, Soul, and Body

1. We create a safe space for healing.

Our residential care is voluntary and completely free of charge to residents. Young women (ages 19-30) will find a supportive home environment over their 6-12 month stay with trained staff, counsellors and other residents pursuing healing.

2. We provide biblically-based counselling.

Professional Christian counsellors work with each resident to develop a holistic care plan to address the spirit, soul, and body. Counselling focuses on identifying the root causes of destructive behaviour through both individual and group sessions.

3. We equip residents with life skills.

Program includes nutritional and fitness education, career support, biblical studies and transitional planning to help residents succeed after the program. After program completion, individuals receive up to 1 year of support from our transitional care staff.

Please note our Canadian residential care program is temporarily paused. All residential care applicants are free to apply to one of our U.S. locations and experience the same life-transforming program, free of charge, while we work towards finding a new property.

“I arrived at Mercy Canada confused, buried in shame, and overwhelmed by life. Through biblically based counselling, I encountered Jesus every day and my life began to transform!

I discovered the truth about who I truly am and gained confidence, worth, and value. Mercy gave me the space and structure I needed to align my purpose with God, which helped me overcome an eating disorder, depression, anxiety and addiction.

A year after I graduated, I enrolled in a psychology program and am now only a few courses away from achieving a Master of Counselling! God released me from heavy chains and gave me a freedom I didn’t know was possible.”

– Linette, Mercy Canada Graduate

Our Counselling Process

Every resident works with her Christian counsellor to set individualized goals for her program timeline. These goals provide motivation and accountability to residents throughout the program. Counsellors partner with residents to identify the root causes for destructive behaviour, and equip the individual with the skills they need to permanently avoid these patterns in the future.

In addition to individual counselling, residents also participate in group counselling on a weekly basis. Group counselling sessions are a time focused on solutions, taking responsibility and making choices to move forward. By 90 days, counsellor and resident are working on aftercare goals with an approximate program completion timeline in mind.

Developed from over 3 decades of experience, our program combines biblical principles of healing and unconditional love with best-practice clinical interventions. There are 7 key components that are addressed in counselling:

  • Commitment to Christ
  • Choosing to Forgive
  • Renewing the Mind
  • Generational Patterns
  • Healing Life Hurts
  • Freedom From Oppression
  • Principles for Lifelong Success
