Counsellor

Mercy Canada is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team. If you have a heart to work with vulnerable women and be a part of true life transformation and change through Christ, this might be the position for you. 

Currently looking for 2 Master’s Level Counsellor for 32 hours per week. Client caseload of 10. Group work and psycho-social teaching and training opportunities available.

Education/Experience: 

  • A Master’s Degree in the field of Counselling, or a related Social Science discipline is required. 
  • Experience is preferred.
  • Registration with a regulatory body is required.

     

Office Administrator/Corporate Assistant

7  Month Maternity Posting March 29– October 29 2021 (28 hours per week).

Position Summary: As the first point of contact in representing MMCA this position is crucial to the organization. This administrative position covers a diverse range of responsibilities from overall reception duties, to compiling detailed data and organizational reports. Managing our donor database and accurate tax receipting is a key part of this role in caring for our donor’s private and personal information. This position will manage our subscription accounts and day to day banking tasks. As needed, this position will recruit/manage volunteers along with providing administrative support for all our events.

Education / Experience: Strong Computer and administrative skills, office management or secretarial training is preferred; however, a variety of proven abilities and experiences in office or organizational settings will be considered.

Personal Qualifications: This individual will have exceptional interpersonal and computer skills, possess a friendly and warm personality, an attitude of excellence, professionalism in dress and manner of relating. This individual will be strong in the area of multitasking, flexible and willing to support a variety of other corporate positions. Attention to detail and organizational skills are key to this position. Compassion and sensitivity to the population group we serve is necessary.

Competency: Thorough knowledge of the database, thorough knowledge of the mission and vision of Mercy Canada, thorough knowledge of the services we offer and products we sell.

 

Transitional and Aftercare Facilitator

7  Month Maternity Posting March 29– October 29 2021 (12 hours per week).

Position Summary:
The Aftercare/Transitional Care Facilitator works closely with the Director of Wellness and Outreach Services to support clients in their individual goals. This position facilitates tailored support in the areas of accountability, life-skills, goal setting and community engagement.

Education/Experience:

  • An undergraduate degree or college diploma in or social science field is preferred.
  •  3 years previous work experience in a social service environment as a volunteer or in a support capacity is preferred.
  • Current First Aid/ CPR (Emergency level 1)

Personal Qualifications:  This individual demonstrates compassion with the ability to provide mature, Christ-centered, calm, sound guidance to those who are integrating into healthy community. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are needed.  Must be efficient in time management. Excellent organizational, written communication and administrative skills; proficient in word and excel. Must be able to multi-task, set and adhere to professional boundaries with clients.
